“Initiation is nothing more than becoming more conscious in a particular field. Perhaps it gives you a certain peace within yourself to call this an initiation and then you can say, “How wonderful, I’m initiated,” but actually it doesn’t matter whether you call it initiation or not.
Of course it’s possible to experience a great expansion of consciousness – if one is so blessed – giving the impression of having taken a step forwards. But this step taken at a certain moment is actually only a clarification of the stage a person and his energy was able to reach.
Initiation isn’t a reward you receive at a certain time. It’s a day-to-day struggle, this is the real initiation. At a certain time the flower of this struggle blossoms and it may give you the impression of having been initiated, but it isn’t like this.
Initiation is something you fight for each and every day and then suddenly it becomes apparent, the reward is the blossoming of your own work. Therefore you are the one who initiates yourself. You are the one who explains the path to yourself. You may find this somewhat disappointing yet I tell you that this is the only reality.
Initiation isn’t a reward you receive at a certain time. The real initiation is a day-to-day struggle.
You are always being guided on your way, you are never alone. Someone is always watching over you. There are always angels at your service. There are always great Sages who have gone before you and who are concerned with you and will guide you. There is always your own soul who knows and distances itself from what you are doing and yet, on the other hand, decides what you will do. Because your soul, the Divine within yourself, will inspire you wherever you may be.
Only, “Am I open for this?” This is always the question. “Can I open myself to this greatness, this reality, the wisdom, the beauty, ...?” and all the other ideals one can name. Then you will realise what a massive undertaking this is.
Because if you create beauty on this Earth – which is something of great importance – then you must know you are only at the beginning of the road leading to the ultimate beauty you will once be able to create. There is really nothing more to say about this because what you will bring to this Earth will be something different from what I could tell you to do. Because within you is an originality, a knowledge and a creative power."
