Dearest eNews readers,

A few years ago I came together with a few people to meditate and reflect on personal problems. Very spontaneously I happened to mention Master Morya's books, but the majority of our little group believed these books were decidedly too difficult. My first reaction was: 'But why, it's just Flemish, isn't it?' But everyone stuck to their points of view and each one had some examples about bits in this book or in that book that they had once opened and.....'oh, it wasn't for me!'

I took the book "People and Society", about which one person had just made a comment and haphazardly opened it at chapter 11: 'Free from guilt'. About three people read out a paragraph chosen at random. And yes, practically everyone agreed with the content of the text and either had an anecdote, or a similar experience, or a series of interesting remarks to make. Everyone realized that he or she lived with feelings of guilt and that the book might indeed require a certain amount of study, but that overall it was rather fun to approach a facet of life in this way.

For me it holds a fond memory, which is why I wanted to choose some three paragraphs from this book as meditation text. But choosing was not so easy; I spent an entire evening sifting back and forth through the pages of that chapter, each paragraph opening up a world of experiences and insights and resolutions to see it differently from now on; my whole life went into review.

This chapter is in fact a book by itself. Eventually I chose one bit, about ten percent of the more than 5000 words in chapter 11.

Meditation for the full moon of 27th July 2018

Master Morya,

"Dare to tread slowly - together with people, connecting with them and cooperating with them.  If you can do this you will not feel that you are better than others but also not worse than others, and you will know: ‘In any case, it's difficult’.

Life on this Earth is a very complicated play of energies, of forces for us to constantly discover. And you should imagine that each person can be different at every moment. This is why openness and sincerity are really a blessing when one approaches others in order to recognize the reality of life. Then you break through the mirror of being, then you are no longer looking at yourself. Because there are people who only look at themselves; they are supposedly busy with others but only see themselves. You should be able to break through the mirror of the self to learn to really see the other as he or she truly is and then you will go forward. This means that all at once you learn to study the precision of the whole. You are able to see the subtlety with which the other person is working. Because very many people are working in a very correct and nice way, but others are often unable to see this because they are busy living in their imaginations.

Many people live in their thoughts and cannot sufficiently see their fellow persons because they look at them from the outside. You should look at people from within your inner being and also learn to see and understand the other person’s inner being.  This is only possible when you deal lovingly with others and when the peace and silence is there to have a profound conversation and to talk about inwardness. It is in this way that what is within can be exteriorized on this Earth. When you can do this you will feel drawn to always give more of yourself and to keep expecting more of others, and so you will be engaged in a very profound exchange and in a true friendship.

You should be able to share a great deal with people, but it should never be in a threatening way, in order to supposedly teach the other a lesson or to put them in their place, or to show what you can do and the other cannot. It must not be in the form of a lesson, except as a lesson for yourself, to learn and to dare to learn. When you begin to learn from your fellow persons, hence, when you learn to recognize those things which are present in them, your life too will become ever more beautiful. Because humanity as a whole holds a treasure within itself which is being drawn to the Divine. Each time you come into contact with people, and an always greater number of people, in an open and honest manner, you can learn to see the miracle of the Divine creation. You will keep being drawn to more points of view and more open viewpoints; you will be driven to keep being more honest with yourself and with others, and thereby an ever-greater force will emerge. Because of this you will correct yourself and also correct your fellow persons, and it is in this way that the society is also corrected."
